Great movie, and first one at that!
Was shockingly surprised at the quality of this movie. We have been to Sight and Sound theaters many times, and heard they were making a movie. For a first movie, astounding. For those disliking preachy movies, this is not really that. It was a great story and both the wife and I had to stay over to see the making of the movie.

The characters were great, the acting was great. I actually don't remember the song but I guess I now vaguely do. Some of the movie was quite sad. I'd hate for any family to go through some of those hardships. I did think the ending was a little strange but the rest of the movie was so engaging it didn't matter.

THIS is the movie to see this holiday season
We haven't been to the movie theater that often since COVID. It takes something very special to motivate us enough to turn off netflix and to go and see a film on the large screen. This movie is that special an is the one to see this holiday season at the theater. It's a beautiful film set in the Civil War period of America's history as told through the life of one of America's most famous poets - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Longfellow was an abolitionist who used the power of his pen to motivate a generation to fight to end slavery. But this isn't just a visually stunning historical period piece. This is a tale about the power of love, family and faith - and of finding one's purpose again after suffering a terrible loss. Grab your family and friends - we took our 9 year old who sat riveted throughout the entire film - and enjoy this deeply moving film based on a true story. It will bring new meaning to your holiday season this year - and beyond.
