    I am quite torn
So, I actually enjoyed the first half or so of the movie. The atmosphere, flashbacks, Michael being.. Michael. Loved the brutality. It showed a lot of promise and actually felt like a part of the Halloween franchise. I was excited to watch it and see where it was going. However it quickly went downhill from there. Some negatives:

I thought the dialogue was bad, some lines were very out of place and obviously the screenplay could've used some work. I didn't like the jumping between several different places in a short amount of time, it made the movie hard to follow and felt inconsistent.

Bringing out old iconic characters is fine when you know what to do with them. In this case, it didn't happen. Some of them were introduced, then disappeared soon after and I wish they would've done something more with Lindsey, and Brackett especially. I appreciated Marion being offed in the car (since she was so close to dying in one in 1978), however I HATED her going all tough "this one's for Loomis" or whatever and her suddenly being out of ammo.. I thought it was so unnecessary and made her look like an idiot. She was also, may I say quite useless. Atleast in H20 she was a fighter!

The entire hospital sequence was a bit.. interesting. I can understand a situation like that (killer on the loose, everyone is scared out of their minds and want to find and kill him) can cause them to lose their marbles and do anything to find the person responsible but I found it stupid how no one thought to actually take a look at the guy they were chasing. It was obviously not possible for him to be Michael. For that reason I actually enjoyed watching Michael slaughter the rest of the mob in the end lol.

I really didn't like Karen getting killed. It felt like such a weird decision and out of place.

I find this movie was trying to do a little bit of everything and it became its downfall. Trying something new, while also trying to cater to the fans of the franchise at the same time. And in the end it all just kind of falls flat and doesn't fully deliver on either. So it was disappointing, to say the least.

However, I did like the acting, the brutality, the score (excluding the part where Michael killed Cameron and is walking down the stairs??? What was that???) and like I said, the first half in its entirety.

First half I'd rate probably 7,5/10, the rest 4,7/10.

    P. S. The phrase "evil dies tonight" was so overused it's stuck in my head for the next couple of weeks.

    PLEASE PLEASE WATCH ANYTHING ELSE.
Oh, it has an average of 5.5 on imdb. I'll give it a try.

After a lot of killing, groups of idiots find more dead bodies, they then say Michael did this!!!!!!! And they use these words a good 1/2 a dozen times.

I must say Michael did well to defeat 11 firemen all at once. Are you joking? Nope, he had a a fireplace poker. Please! The whole film is a shambles, it's obvious, boring, & just not even slightly realistic.

I was actually hoping Myers would get rid of the bad actors a little faster.

And someone explain to me how Myers ended up back in town for halloween, because you you'd be a fool to transport him on his favourite day of the year.

To sum up, the film is chaotic to extremes, the townsfolk are so stupid they should be on Scooby Doo, the script must have taken 1/2 an hour to finish, & I was more scared going Xmas shopping. Don't say I didn't warn you.
