    The Kashmir files
I belong to North Eastern Indian and I don't understand Hindi much and can't speak. But being an Indian I know about kargil war and the situation in kashmir. So the film also based on true story like the conflict started after the partition of India in 1947 as both India and Pakistan claimed the entirety of the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a dispute over the region that escalated into three wars between India and Pakistan and several other armed skirmishes.

A succession of Hindu dynasties ruled Kashmir until 1346, when it came under Muslim rule. The Muslim period lasted nearly five centuries, ending when Kashmir was annexed to the Sikh kingdom of the Punjab in 1819 and then to the Dogra kingdom of Jammu in 1846.

    A depressing journey of discovery
The writing of the story of the main character's journey of finding the truth was beautiful and emotional. The historical writing of the film was very well explained for a very complex part of history. The social message of the film was also very on-point and pondering.

The acting actors were very realistic and emotional.

The pacing of the movie is quite slow in the first act but is well-paced after that. The movie is nearly 3 hours but it felt like it was 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Don't be surprised to be depressed after watching the film and not wanting to watch it ever again.

Recommend watching it alone so no one can ruin the mood the film is bringing and it'll help make you feel more immersed in the film.
