It was not necessary to make a sequel, but the witches do not lose their charisma
The film starts well by presenting us at the beginning with a part of the origin of the 3 witches, the rest of the film is somewhat difficult to say. The performances are exaggerated and overacted by both the male characters and the three witches, which gives some cringe, but it still generates humor for some perhaps and not for others. In part it has the tone of its predecessor, but the setting is very different, taking into account that 29 years have passed since the previous installment and this was adapted to the most current time. It has nods to the original film and a connection with it, which I cannot say is a bad sequel, but not a very good one either, since when watching it it is easy to notice that it is an unnecessary sequel, although luckily it does preserve the essence from the previous film. Hocus Pocus 2 is not a sequel that all those who enjoyed the original will welcome with open arms, but at least it is pleasant to see the trio of witches and the zombie Billy back after so much time and for all that has been said, the I will rate it with a 7/10.

    Never should've been made
If you're going to do a sequel a classic such as a movie like hocus pocus the one thing you do don't is make a sequel with such a lazy plot if they wanted to introduce new characters that's one thing but not having a direct tie to the first film is the biggest mistake ever and just saying 1993 over and over again without saying what happened is makes no sense i was looking forward to this film but once i heard the 3 most important characters weren't going to be in the film I knew it was going to fail I only saw it because my son wanted to see it and from start to finish I buried my face in my hand.
