After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

An enjoyable video game movie sequel we all deserve!
After watching this film with my Mum here's my spoiler-free review of Sonic the Hedgehog 2! As usual, I'll be talking about my thoughts, what I enjoyed most about this one and my conclusion/rating! All the cast members from the first movie are back; Ben Swartz as Sonic, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski and Jim Carrey as Dr Eggman along with Tails and Knuckles for this sequel! There are a lot of easter eggs and references to the games that you'll recognize, there is a post-credit scene that you want to stick around for and I'm even more excited for the third movie coming out in December 2024! Overall this was a fun & enjoyable second entry of the Sonic franchise that everyone will watch that's why I'm giving this a 6/10! A true masterpiece of the video game genre
Video game movies are notorious for being awful, however this movie was different. While sonic 1 was great, sonic 2 goes above and beyond greatness. Every single voice actor was amazing, the actors were great with and amazing job done by Jim Carey. The CGI was actually good, all the hedgehogs looked great. Even the pacing was wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this movie, especially the dance battle. The climax was just perfect beyond words. This movie had everything I would have ever wanted from a sonic movie or any video game movie. It was not afraid to lean into the right aspects of the games, it was fun and silly just as it should have been. For fans of the game franchise you will truly love this movie, it was chock full of Easter eggs and nods to the games and even those who haven't played will love it, you don't need to play the games to enjoy this movie. I laughed and laughed with my friends, half of whom have never played the games, and when I watched it alone I laughed again. So please watch this movie I'm sure you will laugh to it was genuinely such a fun watch and I truly do recommend to all.
