Warning: Don't Watch!
If you are a fan of the series, do not watch Rise of the Titans!
I love the series, but like with any great story the whole thing can be ruined with a terrible ending. Everything that happened throughout this wonderful story was made utterly pointless, so much so that it makes rewatching the show almost impossible for me now, because I know none of it really matters because of the ending. I now have to give everyone I know that gets into the series a warning NOT to watch Rise of the Titans, or else they will be disappointed and regret either watching it and/or the whole series.
I sincerely hope the ending of this was not Guillermo del Toro's, for it is hard to imagine something like this can come out of his brilliantly creative mind, for it was lazy writing at its worst. - libranmagick - 18 June 2023
Loved it... until the ending!! SPOILERS
To be perfectly honest, I loved the movie until the ending. So did my kids. We loved Trollhunters, 3 Below, and Wizards!! We watched this movie until the last bit of the credits, thinking "They're going to fix this! Right??" WRONG!! We loved Toby, but Jim is THE TROLLHUNTER!!! The first show literally showed us in season 2 what would happen if Jim wasn't The Trollhunter: CHAOS!! Yes, Toby is A Trollhunter. But he's not THE TROLLHUNTER!!
That aside, as a fan of Anton Yelchin (the original voice actor for Jim), I am very disappointed!! He tragically passed away during the making of the original Trollhunters. They dedicated the show to him. But I felt like this movie was a slap in the face! Everything that he put into this character was erased with that ending! If I wasn't already disappointed with Netflix for canceling some of my favorite shows, I would be now!!
