Yet another movie that leaves you wondering how people manage to sustain any sort of career as a writer/director
I had very low hopes for this movie and it didn't fail to meet them - so whats to hate about this move (aside from everything)

    1) as usual these days there was zero character building with the main cast in the opening part of the film so you really don't care much about what happens to them from the off. The only exception here is the two kids who are typically irritating smart, head strong know-it-all types that you wish would be despatched as soon as possible to make things more bearable for anyone stupid enough to be watching.

    2) Idris English Elbar and his lame american accent - though on the scale of things not really so problematic.

    3) The ninja stealth terminator style lion (sometimes) - one second lurking in the undergrowth 500m away, the next .... its behind you! Over and over again the lion assassin strikes - its painful. But then of course if you happen to be the hero then the strikes are fairly inconsequential anyway (at least for the bit of the film I could endure watching).

    4) The stupidity scenes - people (kids in particular) constantly getting out of the car and wandering off in the undergrowth in africa with a variety of wild animals about let alone a marauding man eating lion! I mean, you wouldn't even do that in a wildlife park back home so why would you think to when there's an entire village of bodies a couple of hundred yards away? The theres the guy wading into a river just after spotting a 15 foot crock swim off, and the fact that no-one ever closes the window despite a mad lion constantly trying to get in the car to devour its occupants.

    5) The other breaks from reality - like Idris hiding in clear sight by lying on a tree branch about 4foot above clarence the boss eyed lion that seemingly cant see or smell him from outside his comfort zone - yet bizarrely, when injured manages to follow the family for miles when they escape in a landrover and drive back to a hunters retreat - of course though there is an explanation for this according to Idris i.e. 'it must have cut through the mountains' - err what?, how? - you take short cuts when you know the final destination - did Idris tell the lion where they were heading? Is it psychic ... but only when not wading through crocodile infested riverbeds? Then there is the lion fight at the end - tbh it is so stupid it just doesn't even warrant comment it was so bad.

    6) The script/delivery - notable line for me was 'dad I don't think he made it' - said with absolutely zero interest/empathy by kid 2 when the much loved uncle dies at the hand of the super lion.

Overall just dire and gets worse the more you think about it.

    Crappy manuscript
    So poorly written manuscript!

Why did Idris sign up for this crap?

There was so many things that people normally would not have done in their situations!

Pretty bad acting by everyone, it sounded like they were reading from a script.

Leaving doors and windows open while chased by a lion?

Just putting ONE tiny pioson-injection in the lion instead of killing it while the opportunity was there?!

There's just too much things that are annoying.

Leaving the clothes on while patching up a wound?!

There's so many things that annoyed me so I just turned the movie of.

There's no reason at all to watch this movie.
