🐻 High jinks and hijinks in the woods: A trip worth taking? 🐻
Elizabeth Banks' "Cocaine Bear" is a wild ride from start to finish, an action-comedy-thriller that delivers on its outrageous premise. With a title like that, you know you're in for a bizarre and absurd treat, and the film embraces its inherent craziness with gusto.

Based on a true story from 1985, the film follows the aftermath of a large amount of cocaine being dumped in the Georgia forest, which is then ingested by an American black bear, leading to chaotic and deadly consequences. It's a simple setup that the film uses as a springboard for over-the-top comedy and horror.

The result is a film that is gleefully bonkers. "Cocaine Bear" doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's a large part of its charm. It knows what it is and leans into it, offering a fun and frivolous time at the movies. The film is filled with slapstick moments, visual gags, and a healthy dose of gore, creating a tone that is both hilarious and horrifying.

One of the film's standout qualities is its pacing. With a tight runtime, the film moves at a breakneck speed, ensuring that the audience is never bored. The story is well-crafted, with each scene flowing smoothly into the next, and the dialogue is snappy and filled with dark humor. There's a sense of ambition in the sprawling nature of the characters and their intertwining storylines, which adds depth to the chaos.

However, it's also here that the film stumbles slightly. While the fast pace and multitude of characters keep the energy high, it can also feel frenetic and disjointed at times. The film could have benefited from a little more breathing room to develop its characters and story beats more fully. As a result, some of the performances feel a little shallow, and the potential for emotional investment in the characters is limited.

That being said, "Cocaine Bear" never claims to be a deep and meaningful piece of cinema. It's a film that wears its heart on its sleeve, and its primary goal is to entertain and amuse. In that respect, it succeeds admirably. The film is filled with creative and memorable moments, such as a slapstick chase involving an ambulance and a gun-toting emergency worker, which showcase the film's commitment to comedic mayhem.

I don't know where to start
I was going through the IMDb home when I found this movie. I didn't watch any trailer or anything about it online, I just told myself "well, I am going to watch it" and I put it in my watch list. It's based on a true story and it's a funny film. I didn't enjoyed it all, and I found some parts as useless as they can be. Like the part with the female police officer who comes out as a traitor. Overall it's a funny film and you can watch it in a free time. It isn't that long (~90 minutes) and some parts are that funny that made me laugh. Not a movie for everyone (VM 18) and, by reading other reviews, I can confirm my rating.
