samrich-75414 - 5 January 2023 A surprisingly great film This is a great thriller. I was engrossed all the way through. I feel the score for this film is too low as it for me was as good as along came a spider!!! I must for all thriller film watchers.
The story line is up to date and very believable. Great to see top quality actors alongside upcoming actors.
I would have paid to watch this on the big screen. Great ending. I would like to see more of these types of films. When the film finished I wanted more.
Why does this review have to have soo many words?
It's really hard to expand anymore than I already have. This film was great and I would recommend it.
MsSparkles228 - 27 November 2022 The holes ... Maybe I simply watch too much good British police drama, but the holes in what could have been a spectacular thriller were simply too much to bear.
Hugh Bonneville is sublime in this, make no mistake, and I may never be able to rewatch Downton Abbey without wondering what's really going on behind the face (thank goodness the servants quarters are down below!!) - but there are simply too many gaps and "oh come on" moments in this to give it more than a mediocre rating.
So many whys. Why photos aren't taken as "evidence" when in the first two min of the film, we can see photo taking is important . Why the police are so inept. Why would you get into a car with someone who ... well, yes. All that and more. Sure, maybe "plot reasons made me do it" but seriously, this could have been spectacular. It wasn't.
