    good set ups and location
This film was good and engaging. I this a film I would recommend, i like the switch between the real world and barbie land as i think it creates clear contrast and is a good thought out set up. I like all the bright colors used i think this is a good them and color pallet for younger kids as there are lots of pinks and yellows. I think the start of the film was successful humor wise and story wise. However it was disappointing near the end as i feel they made the actors too over dramatic and made the film a little confusing near the end. Lots of arguments regarding the films portrayal of women's personal problems however i think it was good in raising awareness of issues regarding women's rights and feelings however was not fitting for a children's movie.

So many levels of meaning here...
Have watched this gem of a movie so many times, and each time I undercover something new.

I'm not a "girly girl" so I was skeptical going in, but this movie is not only thoroughly entertaining, but it made me rethink my opinions of everything from traditional "girl" behavior to the meaning of power struggles to even the use of the color pink! Greta Gerwig had to walk such a fine line here, to avoid being either preachy or a joke, and sure does it masterfully. And of course Margot Robbie is brilliant as always. Such a crime that they didn't get nominated for best actor/actress or director.

This movie rings true in all of its many shrewd observations about men, women, patriarchy, and what it means to be happy. Side note: my 60-year-old hubby loved it as well.

    A favorite movie!
