Challengers

    Could not finish the movie
Sorry I spent the money on this film as it was a major disappointment. Boring and seems like it was aimed at the 17- 28 year old crowd who are Zendaya fans from HBO's Euphoria. I had flashbacks to snippets of American Pie, Summer of 42, Perfect Addiction, Something Borrowed, This Means War.... Styling without the necessary foundation is fine for the youth who have grown up on sound bites, Tik Tok and texting. No trophies from any award shows for this and it should have been a television movie seemingly produced by someone like Meghan Markle and financed by her bestie Serena Williams. Hopefully Civil War will be better as this summer doesn't seem to have any blockbusters on tap. Must we watch the Olympics and political conventions ?

    Unique, creative, and memorable
I'll start by saying that definitely is not your run of the mill movie. It's a creative movie that definitely requires an open mind. If you want a straightforward storyline, this isn't it. This is the kind of movie that tackles multiple things at once. It's a sports movie, it's a romantic thriller, and it's a drama all in one. This also isn't the kind of movie that explains things to you- there are metaphors, and the characters are complex and not quite like regular people.

I think the negative reviews are mainly from people who didn't understand the movie, don't like complex plots, or who hate Zendaya for seemingly no reason. You don't need to be a zendaya fan to like this movie (like some people claim). Also, the racism comments are shocking! I hate to say it, but I bet if you replaced her with a white girl, a lot of the haters would suddenly like this movie.
