I wanted to like this movie. It was just ok.
This movie had potential, it fell short by not explaining enough background about the character, as well not enough details supporting the plot of the story. I wanted to like this movie. Sydney Sweeney did a fantastic job! Her performance is worthy of some sort of recognition or award! This was a different role for her from her typical roles and it worked. I felt the supporting Actors around her were not as strong. The movie offers lots of gratuitous violence. There are some beautiful scenes of the Church in this picture. The movie is somewhat dark. I had to adjust my TV.

If you are going to watch this movie consider that you may have questions afterwards.

Finally, an ending worth it's salt. Slight spoilers
Scary movie with shady religious folks: nuns, priests, etc. Girl out of her element who must flip a switch within her to fight the ugly truth on everything she holds dear to her heart.

She wants to be a nun like it's the only career path for her, gets the job, and the second she's official, the bad guys pounce. From here, u know the tropes: weird Satan worshipping-albeit they don't see it that way- all who will help our hero r either liars or are dispatched, BUT the ending is worth the ride. We finally get a protagonist who does what must be done. So many frickin movies nowadays think it's cool to "let the bad guy prevail", but I'm so sick of that. Tell me a story that was meant to b told BECAUSE the good guy overcomes incredible odds in a nightmare situation. I can think of at least half dozen "Satan" related movies that would improve if they had an ending like this Just saying.
