jtindahouse - 3 July 2024 Needed a lot of polishing It's hard to make me dislike a film like this. Whodunit/slashers are about my favourite type of film. But 'Founders Day' did not get it right. The script could've used a lot of revising. The dialogue was bizarre at times and cringe-worthy at others. The pacing was too slow and there were far too many dull and uninteresting scenes. And the characters were not well developed and didn't have me caring in the least who the killer was.
The film actually feels like satire of the genre at times. I don't think it was intended to be, but some of the ludicrous decisions the script makes can give that impression.
One positive I would add was that I liked the killer mask. Otherwise though, this is a hard film to find praise for. 4/10.
bokholdoi - 8 May 2024 Good ideas with bad execution. This movie deserves less than 5 but the ideas behind the scenario deserves more than 5, so it may be a "not bad" low budget horror movie. And do not dive into the 1-3 ratings, this movie still is watchable.
You will see absurd levels of inspiration from Scream movies. Maybe that's not bad at all, but the execution of the scenes are bad. Even in 80s horror flicks these scenes were executed much better.
I don't know if the scenario was good and the directing and editing of the movie is bad. But the result seems like it. Maybe these ideas with better execution could be a really good movie, because some of th ideas behind the scenario is reflecting the politicians and people around the world very well.
