A joyful experience for HP lovers, but a bit too much?
Nice movie, had fun watching. A must for the Harry Potter lovers. And the saga goes on.

I think they gave too much effort to impress with the magical stuff than with the story. The wizards on Beasts are so impressive, but when you go back to watch the Harry Potter movies, Voldemort's Magic tricks remind you of first year student at Hogwarts. Beasts's Dumbledore is portrayed as he could take pretty much on anyone without sweating.

But overall, I think the fans will love it. Again, the problem is that you can't watch HP movies with the same viewpoint. Just some students doing basic magic. Including Voldemort.

    Very disappointing...
My sister and I are real potterheads, and this movie left us with a lot of anger and unanswered questions. Apart from the poor storyline, unnecessary new characters, no character development at all, no Johnny Depp, and a really disappointing endscene, this movie had some major errors that are inconsistent with the harry potter universe as we know it:

    1. When Kowalski and Lally travel to go on the train with Newt and the others, we assumed the book that was clearly visible, was a portkey. This is also emphasized by Kowalski. However, when they reached the train, we saw them enter through a FIREPLACE, which completely mixes up two different ways of travelling in the wizarding world.

    2. Dumbledore's deluminator is able to do two things: deluminate lights and find a way to a loved one. It does NOT completely transfer human beings into a world of lights or shadows (or whatever the intension was in the scene with Credence and Dumbledore)

    3. There is no way to bring back the dead. Phoenixes, who are reborn from their ashes and the resurraction stone (which only leads the dead into the real world but doesn't make them alive again) are the only exceptions. I have no idea what Grindelwald did to that poor quilin, but it was certainly not in line with the rules of the wizarding world.

    4. As we know from the Harry Potter books, Dumbledore is the master of the Elder wand after his duel with Grindelwald. In this movie, it is clearly shown to us that Grindelwald has this wand, but then Dumbledore doesn't disarm or kill him. So there is no logical reason Dumbledore is the new master. The only explanation is that Grindelwald is not dead yet, and Dumbledore is about to disarm or kill him in the future.

    5. The blood bond, well... There is not much to be said. It should not have been broken. Blood bonds cannot be broken, therefore it is a blood bond.

    6. The quilin, in the movie mentioned as the most powerful creature of the wizarding world, did not appear in the book Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, which is not really an error but another missed opportunity. Surely, if the creature was so important that it even chooses a new leader, then why wouldn't Newt write about it?

    7. There has never been an election of a wizarding world leader in all the HP books and movies we know. As this one took place in Bhutan, I assume it is a worldwide thing. But there are only supposed to be presidents of individual countries.
