    I LOVE THIS FRANCHISE!!!!!
This was one of 4 movies that I watches in the theater back in 2022. The other three movies were The Batman (2022), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022). And while it's the least phenomenal of the 4 movies, I had a blast with Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022).

Positives for Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022): The inclusion of Gru in this story is what helps elevate this movie because in the previous Minions movie, the Minions didn't feel like main characters in that movie, but here they feel more like main characters with Gru's presence. It's help that Gru is still voiced by Steve Carrell because it won't work if you don't have Michael Scott voicing this character. The Minions' journey to save Gru is the heartbeat of this movie and it works perfectly. I also liked the Vicious 6 in this movie, where they're obsessed with this amulet that looks very similar to the one that Shinnok from Mortal Kombat wears. I also liked the actors they got to voice these characters where you have Alan Arkin, Taraji P. Henson, Lucy Lawless, Dolph Lundgren, Danny Trejo and Jean-Claude Van Damme. I also liked Michelle Yeoh as Master Chow and even though she has a limited amount of screentime, she makes the most of that screentime and in fact this was the year where she was also in Everything Everywhere All at Once, which she won the Oscar for Best Actress, so it was awesome to see the Minions training with a future Oscar Winner. And finally, the action sequences continue to one of the highlights of this franchise and I can't wait to see what Despicable Me 4 (2024) has in store.

Negatives for Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022): There are several moments where the movie does the prequel thing of answering questions I wasn't asking and providing answers that I don't care about. First of all, they tell us how Gru and Dr. Nefario met each and how they eventually teamed up by the end of the movie. They also tell us why Gru hates Vector so much. So yeah as much as I did enjoy this movie, they still had to do the prequel thing and it was annoying.

Overall, Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022) is yet an other phenomenal entry into the Despicable Me Franchise and I continue with each new installment.

Minions That are as Dumb as Always😒
Ok, don't get me wrong from the title. This wasn't a bad movie. I think actually it was very fine. Dumb Minions, funny action and a bigger backstory from the life of Gru, the worst villain in the world. I didn't expect something extraordinary or out of this world, but for kids I think this is a great family-friendly movie to watch. The voice-actors were ok, the animation from Illumination is good, I think Illumination has good animations anyway, something we could for example in Super Mario Movie or in The Secret Life of Pets, similar animation, but fantastic. So like, animation hold this movie to this rating I am giving. The story was actually very basic, but I think it is cool that we are getting more flashbacks and stories from the past of Gru. The Minions were like they was in every of the other movies, but they seemed to have more emotions and feelings then they had before, that expressed them really well. Also, great directed and written, for a such a movie to be. This is a basic family-friendly movie, a movie you can watch with your kids, if you like Minions you will sure probably like this movie, too, because it offers kind of the same Minions stuff. Not the best animated movie ever but not so bad after all.
