    A Moving and Cathartic Film
A Silent Voice is a beautiful and gut-wrenching movie that weaves elements of depression, loneliness, social anxiety, bullying, and mental disorders into a coherent and emotional story that will make you bawl your eyes out continuously for the entirety of its 129 minutes run-time. For those that connect with the two titular main characters who've dealt with these issues throughout their lives, it will absolutely hit home and will pull on your emotional heartstrings. Even though it is a more simple movie with a generic dramatized plot, it was excellently well-paced and constantly made you wonder how much worse or better the characters lives would become. Every scene felt much-needed and the progression of the plot was a consistent natural buildup up to the tipping point of the film that will lead to an intense cathartic outburst. But for those who aren't interested if the plot itself was meticulously and well-thought out, and want an alluring coming-of-age story that will make you empathize with the characters to the point of constant lamentation, then this is an absolute must-watch.

    Poignant
"What comes around goes around" is the basis of this movie. This is a poignant and nuanced film because even though it might seem at first that the main character was the only one in the wrong, but in fact he wasn't. I think the redemption arc was done tastefully, as in it didn't feel like the main character made friends with the girl he bullied just because he felt pity for her. Their friendship was genuine because he wanted to understand her better.

The plot, writing, pacing and character development are great in this film. The animation and cinematography are beautiful too and it's clear that the team that worked on this really cared to make sure that the story was delivered the way it's supposed to.
