    The Garfield comics are better.
The Garfield Movie is based on Jim Davis' Garfield comics. Garfield(Chris Pratt) is suddenly reunited after many years, with his father Vic(Samuel L. Jackson). Garfield & Odie are compelled to leave their domesticated lives with Jon(Nicholas Hoult) & join Vic on a dangerous heist.

The Garfield Movie is an awesome film. Director Mark Dindal has given us a movie that is fun & a welcome reintroduction of the iconic orange tabby cat to the big screen. However, Jim Davis' Garfield comics are epic. This film doesn't really capture the essence of Davis' comics & what makes Garfield such an iconic character. Instead, it tries to emulate countless animated movies of the past. This is detrimental to the film. The comedic set pieces are quite funny but, they're mostly aimed at kids. The animation is superb. The vocal performances are on point. Chris Pratt is brilliant as Garfield. Samuel L. Jackson is spectacular as Vic. Hannah Waddingham is fantastic as Jinx. Ving Rhames is perfect as Otto. Nicholas Hoult is excellent as Jon. Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillen, Brett Goldstein & Bowen Yang are outstanding as Marge Malone, Odie, Roland & Nolan, respectively. The supporting cast is effective. The Garfield Movie is worth a watch for fans of the Garfield comics & kids will love it. If you're a die-hard fan of the comics, just lower your expectations & you'll definitely enjoy it more.

It's the best one ever at least
In my opinion every Garfield movie is terrible and or bad but for this movie I can give the slightest advantage over the live action adaptations.

The movie's first act is somewhat enjoyable and funny to laugh at although when we are introduced to the villain it all just got boring fast.

Act 2 was the most terrible part of the movie, meaning it went by slower than it should've had, and the story just goes bland just like the jokes in the movie.

Act 3 is the best act yet being again slow and boring in some moments and the action scenes could've tried to last longer I feel like, as for the climax it just kind of left me disappointed because I really thought this movie had potential to be one of the best cartoon movies ever.

    Overall Rating: 6.7/10.
