One of Illumination's Best!
Kind of a surprising film! I didn't expect it to hit me the way that it did. It was such an entertaining adventure, and I loved seeing this family in action. I also loved seeing them on the journey that they go through. In terms of character growth, and the actual story. I found all of these characters to be so lovable, and I enjoyed seeing the family grow closer together. That also goes for the friends that they meet along the way. I love the comic relief of Uncle Dan and Delroy. It was honestly a great family film, and one of Illumination's best. It was such a great feel good movie! Nice to have a real family film without a weak father
It was nice to see a Hollywood movie that doesn't seek to have weak male characters. Strong characters all around was nice! Please do more like this! There were certainly opportunities to learn and be better but that is an accurate reflection on life. This was a surprisingly wholesome film that I feel comfortable sharing with the whole family. That being said, it is quite possible everyone will want to pay a visit to Jamaica now as well which is not a bad idea.
I certainly hope that Hollywood will be more supportive of providing wholesome entertainment for the family and avoid having either parent die, be a buffoon, or fail in showing mutual support and love. That is the way it should be and we should be teaching that.
