Wasn't expecting to LOVE it! A new side of Saul!
I saw this movie has an IMDb rating of 7.4 and I love Bob Odenkirk from Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad so I figured I would likely enjoy this. But I wasn't expecting to enjoy it SO much from start to finish!

It has a basic plot that we have seen before and maybe 0.4% of the plot was silly but it doesn't follow all the cliche recipe as usual. This movie didn't take itself too seriously. It builds suspense effectively and has a lot of violence but never loses its freshness and sense of fun. A hyper-violent "feel good" movie! You don't run into that every day.

True to the genre, it doesn't do a lot of multidimensional development of all the characters but Odenkirk is extremely likeable in general and engaging throughout. And the secondary cast members play their roles well.

The time just flew by. I very much hope there is a sequel. And this made me realize that I'd like to see Odenkirk in a wide variety of roles.

    The WOW Factor!
We've certainly seen our share of vengeance movies. In fact, the past decade we've been bombarded by vengeance/revenge movies. Some are excellent, some are bad, and then there are some I simply can't stand - like the 'John Wick' sequels. 'Nobody' falls in the "excellent" category.

Bob Odenkirk delivers a fantastic performance as Hutch Mansell, or the titular 'Nobody'. Hutch is married with two kids. He lives a monotonous life. His family view him as a bit of a loser, which intensifies when he lets burglars go one night. His family and colleagues now see him as a failure. But there's much more to Hutch than meets the eye...

The character is well set-up, and I rooted for him from the very beginning. Hutch decides to find out who the burglars were. When a group of drunken guys harass a young girl on a bus, he attacks them. This scene is rather brutal, but exceptionally well done. Man, the film's fight scenes are wild!!

It is later revealed one of the guys on the bus was the younger brother of ruthless Russian mob boss Yulian. Yulian now wants to find his brother's attacker, which leads him to Hutch. 'Nobody' hit me with surprise upon surprise, and it was bloody marvellous! The film features good photography, a good soundtrack and a great script. It was unpredictable with none of the usual clichés. I also didn't expect the film to also have such deep emotion.

I enjoyed the fact Hutch was portrayed as an ordinary guy and not a superhero. Poor Hutch really got hurt! He was in pain, he was in agony, and he was bleeding all over the place. He fell down, but got up again. I really liked this character. And what a climax!! Hell, this film was fu*king awesome!!
