Rego_Reviews - 5 June 2024 Just a Great Pixar Movie After Lightyear in 2022, I had low hopes for Pixar. This movie was released though and to be honest, it was a great movie. Slightly stereotypical but funny and relatable for a teen like me. For young women though, this movie is like a movie made for themselves. Mei is just generally relatable with grades, parents, friends, choices, and puberty being the things she deals with in the movie. This movie also has a generally emotional ending with Mei's mom breaking down. Although I too am Christian, the Chinese folklore was acceptable. Also the NSYNC reference with 4Town was enjoyable. Pixar is doing good. I'm still looking for a Ratatouille 2. Anyways, go watch this movie and have a nice day!
DoNotComeToTheCinemaDepressed - 11 February 2024 π When You Realise Just How Good This Film Really Was Just Got out of a Cinematically Released Turning Red Screening.
What a Flawless Watch. Good Heavens.
Things I Loved -
1. π΅ The Boy band Background Music in Different Scenes just added so Much to the Overall Tone of this Film. What a Tone!
2a. π¬ π¬ The Dialogue + Character Actions, Facial Expressions, Movements Etc. Are CONSTANTLY good to Listen to And/or Watch. Literally EVERY second of EVERY scene, there is Always Someone Interesting Happening. From Smart Background Dialogue(Math Class Teacher), to the Facial Expressions/Character Movements of any given Character within there Characters' Framework/Mannerisms.
2b. β‘ Add on top of that the Snappy, Witty Dialogue and you Have yourself a Masterclass in Keeping the Audience Constantly Interested Scene to Scene. The Flow of this Thing was absolute Mastery π
3. π The Plotline was Excellent, I really Loved the Premise, How everything Played and the Execution of the Plotline. It's about a Early Teen Girl that is Growing into certain Things (She's Starting to Like Boys, one of Many Things Certain Girls this Age Start to Go Through). And it's intertwined with this Story of a Mythological Beast that she and her Family are Tied to, Can Mei Lee get rid of this Beast before the Greatest Show on Earth (4*Town Concert) Happens? Just Excellent.
4. π The Animation was Gorgeous, I Especially loved the Cityscape Scenes
5πThe Characters, so many of the characters were Perfectly crafted -
Mei Lee, such a Great Lead Character, her High Energy and Dialogue was so good to watch.
Ming Lee, Meis' Overprotective Mother, her Binocular Scenes were Absolutely Hilarious π
Miriam, One of Meis' Best Friends. The Classic Girl with Braces who also now has interest in Boys. Great Snappy Dialogue between Her and the Other 3.
Priya, this Mellow(sort of like she's on drugs but isn't) laid back Character and another one of Meis' Besties.
Abby, her Crazy Energy was fun to Watch π
She was Super Energetic. One of Meis' Best Friends.
And there were a Bunch of Other Characters, Wu, Meis' Father, Tyler. All added to the Films Narrative.
