    Everybody's Talking About Jamie
Musical following 16 year old Jamie (Max Garwood) who is determined to be a drag queen, much to the disapproval of teachers, bullies at school and most crucially his father (Ralph Inerson). He lives with his mother (Sarah Lancashire) who adores and admires him but hides her ex husband's shame and subsequent disinterest in Jamie. One day Jamie meets professional drag queen Hugo Batterby (Richard E Grant) who takes Jamie under his wing.

Whilst a bit glossy, superficial and frankly predictable rise to inevitable success from nice boy, with Muslim girl friend to a boy who needs to be himself, there is still much to enjoy here. I wasn't wholly sold on the big jazzy numbers which were professional enough done, but hardly original. However, what does work is the smaller intimate stuff and the performances around these scenes, most notably by Grant who does a great musical number explaining his past and Lancashire who can really deliver both in the acting and belting out a song - she walks away with the whole film.

    Amazing
Wow, what an amazing thing. Everyone in Jamie's high school made it all about Jamie. So awesome to see that so much attention was focused on just Jamie.
